The Information Technology and Communications Department has responsibility for the strategic planning, co-ordination and implementation of all computer and information technology matters. It is also responsible for the purchase of all computer related items. To help achieve the department's programme of work policy is developed through consultation with other sections in the Council.
The IT department is fully integrated into the Council's management system, not only by being represented on the Management Team, but also being an active participant in the Organisational Change and Modernisation Cluster Group of the Management Team charged with strengthening the organisation of the Council.
The department is divided into teams as follows:- Stategic Projects,Spatial Infrastructure Services, Applications Development and Design, Infrastructural Services, Strategic Implementation and Training, Connect Project.
